The newer WICS2 has a smaller, hard tip.it's technically more accurate but I actually find the 'precision' makes it more fiddly for me. I actually prefer the original one because the squishy tip feels more like a brush. I have both the original Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus and the later WICS2. If you use Procreate, I recommend getting a stylus. In fact, I would say it's by far the best UI I've worked with on a touch-screen device. Compared to other iPad painting apps, Procreate's unique 'gesture-based' UI is completely uncluttered and easy to use. It's way more fun to paint with than Photoshop, and I love the compactness and instant boot up of the iPad when I'm 'out of the office'. I absolutely agree! I used Procreate for a couple of ASP projects. Guyver93 wrote:Also, if you're into creating and importing bastardized artwork "Procreate" is Aaaa Maaeee Zing!!! What are your thoughts about cloud computing?

I don't like the idea of having "my" expensive software running on a super server in which if my service can be interrupted at any moment but for mobile apps and games I think cloud computing could really work. Not that I'm in favor of it Adobe) because it takes true ownership away from consumers but I think because it can be so heavily regulated and controlled by producers that it seems like that's the route most things are going. Again, I don't know much about it but it seems that a lot of types of software will eventually go to cloud computing. I'm not too tech savy but I know that this service enables high end games and apps to be used on less than powerful devices. I read it's not doing to well business wise but I think they're switching over to a new business model in which they're going to focus more on apps. Be the first and be the best so others can follow your lead.ĭo you think it would be possible to offer AS via cloud sharing someday? After you said virtualization it made me think of all the cool stuff people are using now.

I can't think of anything that would appeal to students more than learning how to animate with AS in the classroom on a mobile device. I work at a university and teachers are very excited to use mobile devices in the classroom. I would love to see it reach the masses and be in the forefront ahead of programs like FLASH and Toon Boom.

I've said a hundred times before, AS is the best animation software in both in price and innovation. Yes, there are some animation programs that are "meh, o.k." in the market now but absolutely nothing that compares to Anime Studio. I'm sure there are a great deal of technical issues you would have to deal with in making AS mobile but if you guys are really REALLY wanting to compete with Adobe and flash you should concider getting into the mobile game and exposing people to animation software on mobile devices first. With the combination of draw and this Plastic Anime Studio you can literally have a VERY stripped down version of AS that with the purchase of IDraw for around $10.00.

I know some of the technology could translate to mobile devices because I recently downloaded an application called "Plastic animation studio" for free that allows you to rig characters with bones and do puppet animation just like Anime Studio. Also, I'm amazed at what hefty programs can be used on the iPad like iMovie and garageband which leads me to believe that a program like AS could have a really nice mobile version. I personally use photoshop touch and Idraw when I'm out and about to create compositions and artwork and then can export my work to be used in photoshop and illustrator when I'm at home using my computer. I'm pretty sure I read something about this before but is there any talk about making anime studio available for mobile devices like the iPad? I'm just asking because there are so many high end programs now that have comporable companion programs that allow users to create projects to be used on multiple platforms. This is for anyone from smith micro or the development team working on AS.
